First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton understands the importance of connecting spiritual truths in the everyday lives of children beginning at birth. As each child is precious in God’s eyes, so are the children to every preschool and children’s teacher and leader at First Baptist Church.

Preschool

Our Preschool Ministry serves children from birth through kindergarten.

  • sunday school

    Preschool Sunday School is a combination of Bible story, crafts, games, and play. Our terrific leaders meet the children where they are and find ways to include the Biblical truth of Christ's love into the play that preschoolers do.


    Preschool Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

  • worship care

    Preschoolers are welcome to attend worship with their parents, attend for a portion of the worship service (typically until the children's moment), or they may stay in their classroom for both Sunday school and worship.

  • tuesday morning playgroup

    Preschoolers (age 2.5 - 5) and an adult are invited to join us for self-paced time to explore and play. Each week are new activities Science, Math, and Art activities where children have the freedom to investigate their world. Drop in for the full 2-hours or just a portion of the time.

    We may get a bit messy sometimes, so be sure to wear your play clothes.


    Tuesday Morning Playgroup meets from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Tuesdays.

  • tuesday night bible study & choir

    Preschoolers (age 3 - Kindergarten) are invited to join us for evening of music activities and choir, Bible exploration, and fun! 


    6:15 - 6:40 p.m. Open Activities related to the Bible story

    6:40 - 7:00 p.m. WEE Ones Choir

    7:00 - 7:30 p.m. B.I.G. (Being Imitators of God) Idea

Elementary Age Children

Our Elementary Ministry serves children in 1st through 5th grades.

  • sunday school

    Elementary Sunday School is a great opportunity for children to explore the stories of the Bible and how they can be applied to their own lives. Children are given the opportunity to question and explore the meaning of faith through story telling, games, crafts and more.  

  • worship

    Elementary age children are invited to attend worship with their families at 10:55 a.m. Worship bags, which include quiet activities for them to do, are available in the back of the sanctuary.


    We include a children's time in our worship service each week and all children are invited to come to the front!

  • tuesday nights

    Children are invited for an evening of music activities and choir, Bible exploration, and fun!
