The Music Ministry at First Baptist Church seeks to honor the Creator of Music through use of our voices and instruments. We strive to give God the glory the best way that we are able.

Our worship music is of a more traditional flavor. However, we look for fresh ways to sing hymns, and choruses are sometimes added. Worship is carefully and prayerfully planned as we work to make worship creative, thoughtful, and meaningful.

Music Ministry Opportunities

SANCTUARY CHOIR

The Sanctuary Choir sings music for our worship services from many different music styles, but we concentrate on traditional music. Occasionally the choir will take opportunities to sing beyond the walls of the church. This group is a very caring group who takes their responsibility as worship leaders very seriously; however, they love to have fun… especially in rehearsals! It is a non-auditioned group of singers.

The Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m.

HANDBELL RINGERS

This invitation-only choir is a group of experienced adult ringers. They play often for our worship services and in our community.

The Handbell Ringers rehearse on Tuesday nights at 5:30 p.m.

KID'S PRAISE CHOIR

The Kid’s Praise Choir (Grades 1-5) will provide a fun learning experience where they will develop music reading skills, good singing skills, performance etiquette, and spiritual truths. Many opportunities will be provided including playing rhythm instruments, chimes, Boom Whackers, and Orff instruments.

The Kid's Praise Choir meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m.

WEE ONES CHOIR

Wee-Ones Preschool Choir (age 3-Kindergarten) is a fun music exploration time for preschool through Kindergarten. We sing, play instruments, do movement activities, make crafts and have so much fun! It's a great faith-based time to expose your child to the wonders of music!

The Wee-Ones Preschool Choir meets on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m.
